About Us
The Kilkenny and Carlow circuit is part of the Midlands and Southern District of the Methodist church in Ireland. There are about 100 families associated with our two Churches and visitors are warmly welcome to participate in our Sunday services and midweek activities. The Methodist Church in Ireland is the smallest of the four main denominations and our President for 2007/2008 is Reverend Roy Cooper.
Kilkenny
Services are 12 noon on Sundays (11:30am in June/July/August), though recently we have been experimenting with a longer worship time starting at 11:40am. Tea and Coffee are available from half an hour before the service. There is a Kid's Club for children aged 3+. The building is located at the bottom of William Street which is off High St. (opposite the arches of the Tholsel).
Carlow
Services are 10am every Sunday with Tea and Coffee available after the service. There is a Sunday School for children aged 3+. The church is located on the Athy Road and the building is opposite the Council Offices and beside the Courthouse.
More Information
The Methodist movement originated in 18th century England as a result of the preaching and organisation of John and Charles Wesley, among others.
Our worship services are informal in style and last about an hour. Holy communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and all are welcome to share in the Lord's Supper.
